Scientists have long been sounding the alarm about major environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss and soil erosion. However, the persistent lack of action and inertia in changing behaviour show that there is still a gap between scientific knowledge and its communication to the general public. It is therefore imperative to build bridges between research and society so that scientific discoveries can be translated into concrete actions that will benefit everyone.
It is this observation that has prompted the Summit Foundation in recent years to participate in and develop scientific research projects in collaboration with various academic institutions (universities, polytechnics, colleges). In doing so, the Foundation is seeking to develop and strengthen its role as a central pillar at the heart of research and innovation.
Today, the Summit Foundation is making this wish a reality by developing its new scientific division. "Summit Science" will be the foundation's 4th pillar, serving as a link between the scientific community and the general public.
Summit Science has the following objectives
- To stimulate and strengthen links between scientific research, our NGO and the general public.
- Developing scientific projects dedicated to the mountain environment, in partnership with universities and polytechnics.
- Support various scientific projects through human and financial commitment.
- Promoting the popularisation of science with over 20 years' experience in environmental communication.
